Xiaomi as planned on the June 12th event at Beijing has officially announced all new Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6A happens to be the successor of Redmi 5A smartphone sporting a 18:9 display and powered by the latest Helio P22 chipset.
In terms of design, it has similar to that one of Redmi 6 but doesn’t have a dual camera setup like the former. However, it gets some of the unexpected features at this price tag with AI-driven Face Unlock and the Xiao AI digital assistant.
Going through the Xiaomi Redmi 6A specs, the device comes with a 5.45 inch HD+ display. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 and will get an upgrade to MIUI 10 in a couple of months just like the Redmi Y2.
In terms of optics, it has has 13 mega pixel rear facing camera with f/2.2 aperture with a LED flash and PDAF. There is 5 mega pixel front facing. It’s backed by a 3000 mAh battery and gets dual SIM connectivity with several other connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (only 2.4GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB.
Xiaomi Redmi 6A price in India is said to be around Rs 5,999(expected) as it’s selling out for CNY 599 in China for the 2 GB RAM with 16 GB inbuilt storage model. It will go on for flash sale on June 15th in China but no dates were release of India launch.
It might happen next month. It has a dimension of 147.5×71.5×8.3 mm with a weight of around 145 grams.
There could be more Xiaomi Redmi 6 variants coming up in few months from now on.
