Xiaomi at an annual event in Shenzhen, China has officially launched all-new flagship Mi 8 smartphone along with Mi 8 Explorer Edition, and Mi 8 SE smartphones. Along with that it also launched Mi Band 3 and all new MIUI 10 version (check the list of eligible phones to get MIUI 10 update).
Going through Xiaomi Mi 8 specs, it sports a 6.21-inch display with Full HD+ 18:7:9 AMOLED display with 600 nits brightness, 60000:1 contrast ratio, and DCI-P3 color gamut. The Mi 8 SE is with smaller 5.88 inch display with 2244 x 1080 pixels resolution.
While the flagship Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer edition are backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, the smaller Mi 8 phone runs on Snapdragon 710 chipset out of the box.
Coming to the optics, the Mi 8 has got dual rear camera with 12 mega pixel + 12 mega pixel assembly and a 20 mega pixel front camera. The Mi 8 SE has 12 MP + 5 MP rear camera with 20 mega pixel front camera.
Mi 8 SE is backed by a 3120 mAh battery and the Mi 8 gets 3400 mAh Lithium-ion battery. Both includes quick charge functionality.
The Mi 8 Explorer Edition specifications remain same as that of Mi 8 but it adds additional features like in-display fingerprint sensor like the Vivo X21D, has a 3D face recognition feature and let’s you create animated emojis based on facial expressions.
Coming to the Xiaomi Mi 8 price, it’s listed at 2699 Yuan (US $421) for the base 6 GB RAM model with 64 GB storage variant. 2999 Yuan and 3299 Yuan is the price for the 128 GB storage and 256 GB storage model respectively. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is priced at 3699 Yuan (US $577).
The Mi 8 SE price is said to be US $280 for the base 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage model and US $312 for the 6 GB RAM model with 64 GB storage. It’s available in Black, Blue and Gold colors.
