Riding high on success for his Nation’s Best Actor award for Rustom, Akshay Kumar is looking forward to ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘, his upcoming movie. It’s a film directed by Shree Narayan Singh and co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The movie casts Bhumi Padnekar, Anupam Kher, and Sana Khan and will release in India on August 11th, 2017.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a movie totally based on the Indian Prime Minister Narender Modi‘s campaign Swach Bharat Abhiyan.The movie deals with the menace of open defecation, and the measures public should take to solve this. Along with the social message the movie is a mixture of romance, comedy and a real time family entertainer.

The National Award winning actor shared on his social media that he got an opportunity to meet Narender Modi and tell him about his upcoming project. He added when he said the title of the movie Toilet:Ek Prem Katha it added a smile on Modi’s face.

The movie’s poster has been released and Akshay and Bhumi have been dressed in traditional Indian Bride and groom. The poster captions Swach Azaadi which mean clean freedom.

Bhumi Padnekar who made a successful debut in Dum Laga ke Haisha has been getting into shape for her new project. She says working with Akshay Sir is an inspiring experience. He works so hard and full of energy. He has made the entire shooting experience so light and funny. The actress says unlike Dum Laga ke Haisha (which was shot in Haridwar) this movie has also been shot in Nandgaon village, Mathura but the characters of both the movie have been very different.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is said to be a clash with SRK’s movie which is directed by Imtiaz Ali. The movie has been rescheduled to release on 11th August 2017 now. So surely this time India would experience a Swach Azaadi.
