Upcoming ZTE’s foldable phone is news for a long time. Rumored to be dubbed as Axon M, the device already has passed through Wi-Fi Alliance in the of October 2016, did receive the FCC certification in the same month and it’s spotted passing through TENAA website. The device model number as mentioned in the application is ZTE Z999.

Since the ZTE Axon M Z999 is now certified, it guarantees the device launch in China and it could happen anytime soon. It may be unveiled at on-going Consumer Electronics Shows (CES 2018) or ZTE may choose Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018) platform to show their latest innovation in the smartphone technology. The MWC 2018 event already includes some big devices like HTC U12Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.

As per the TENAA listing, upcoming ZTE foldable phone supports the TD-LTE / LTE FDD / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / CDMA 2000 / CDMA 1X / GSM networks which correspond to most Chinese telecom network frequencies. It’s a dual SIM phone with dual standby mode and as rumored expected to feature revolutionary foldable display. The two screens will get unfolded to make it one huge display.

As per the GeekBench leak, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and could run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat instead of the latest Android Oreo version.

According to Venture Beat, the device could have a 6.8-inch display when unfolded. While it will be available as an unlocked device in most part of the world, in the United States, it will be exclusive to AT&T.
