The geo-political issues do not have any effect on the sale of the Xiaomi phones in India. The Chinese smartphone and electronics major company, Xiaomi has proved its stand in the country with its sale going up to 25 crore handsets in last three years. This makes it a fastest company ever to hold this record.
Xiaomi VP and MD, India, Manu Kumar tweeted the numbers and figures, related to their sales in the last three years. His tweet claimed that “Xiaomi has sold record 22,000 units, per day in the last three years”. This meant a sale of 916 units per minute. A huge achievement.

Redmi Note 4 has sold 50 lakh units, in 6 months. Xiaomi’s first launch in India was the Mi 3, launched in 2014.
Manu boasted when he said that they “broke all records to become No. 1 selling smartphone in Q1 & Q2.”
The company opened the offline store for public in Phoenix Market City Mall, Bengaluru on May 20 this year that accordingly helped in hitting the sales high.
The Chinese smartphone vendor on the press note said “Xiaomi launched its first Mi Home store in India with a record-breaking INR 5 crore in sales revenue (USD 775,000) within 12 hours of sales on 20 May 2017. It is a milestone unheard of in the Indian smartphone offline industry.”
Xiaomi is reportedly looking forward to opening Mi Home stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai as well. The company also plans to open as many as 100 Mi Homes in the country in the coming two years, which is by 2019.
The revenue from the sales that shows 5 crore, is precisely due to the sales of Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4, says Xiaomi.
The products also included the sales of audio accessories, Mi VR Play, Mi Air Purifier 2, Mi Router 3C, and Mi Band 2. Further, Redmi 4 was also made available first at Mi Home store in Bengaluru.
As per the latest report by International Data Corporation (IDC), Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has become the highest shipped smartphone in India in Q1 of this year.
On one hand, due to the pressure found in the borders with China Vivo and Oppo were sent back their Chinese employees back to China. However, sales of Xiaomi products are not being hampered.
Mi6 has been in the talk when the total sales counted the product’s contribution.
On the contrary, there has been some negative facts attached to the phone. Xiaomi is hailed as the ‘Disruptor Among Titans’.
The explosion of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in a users pocket, did not create a good impression till the company clarified that the same was caused due to the application of ‘extreme external force’ on the phone.
Earlier, COAI had accused Xiaomi of using sub-standard chipsets, though denied by the company.
Although there are positive and negative factors as mentioned above, the company still shows a clear stand when it comes to sales and the investment by Veteran entrepreneur Ratan Tata in the company makes it vital enough to stand in the Indian Market.
