A new Xiaomi handset codenamed as “riva” was spotted on Geekbench website today. Going through the Geekbench listing, some of the Xiaomi Riva specifications were revealed. It will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform and maybe it’s one among Snapdragon 427 or SD 425 or SD 415 chipsets.
Xiaomi Riva’s Geekbench listing also confirms that the device has 3 GB of RAM and it will be running the latest version of Android i.e., Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box.
No other details of the rumored smartphone are available right now. Revealed Geekbench info hints at a budget device, may be priced below $200. It will be launched in the existing Redmi or Mi lineup with a model number different than ‘Riva’.
Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone vendor has displaced many other Indian brands to become most popular handset maker in India. Xiaomi, Meizu, Huawei, ZTE and other Chinese brand registered a 340% growth in India.
All the Xiaomi devices in India are sold through flash sales which happen every week. Currently, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4A flash sales are going on.
For Xiaomi launching atleast one smartphone a month has become a tradition. Company is expected to launch few flagship phones like Xiaomi Mi Note 3 and Mi Mix 2 in the third quarter of the year. On June 28, they added Mi Laser Projector, Ninebot Plus and Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush to its Mi Ecosystem IoT(Internet of Things) product portfolio.
