Xiaomi has started rolling out Miui 9.5 update to Redmi Note 5 which is available for download as Global Stable ROM. The update actually reads as MIUI 9.5.3 and it’s available right now for the users in India. It carriers a build number as 184.108.40.206.NEGMIFA.
This MIUI 9.5 update for the Redmi Note 5 is been rolled out via Over the Air update. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Data connectivity and go to Settings > About Device and then tap on System Update. You will be connected to download the MIUI 9.5.3 Stable ROM from the servers and update process will begin.
First, the firmware package will be downloaded and then it will be applied. Your phone will restart two times, first when the firmware is applied and then next time when apps are being optimized for the new version.
The update doesn’t include any special feature but importantly it brings out several improvements and bug fixes found in the previous version.
It was only a couple of days back that Xiaomi announced intermediate 9.5 update before MIUI 10 rolls out to devices.
Atleast 30 Mi and Redmi phones are expected to get this update by April 2018 end. Already some of the devices have got it.
Recently Xiaomi launched Mi 2S in China and it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5 out of the box.
As scheduled the update will be available to Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 5A Prime/Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite/Redmi Note 5A, Mi Max 2, Mi 5, Redmi 4X, Mi Mix 2 and Mi 6 in the first week of April 2018.
