At the annual Xiaomi event on May 31st in Shenzhen city of China, Xiaomi announced all new Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 Explorer Edition smartphones along with Mi Band 3. MIUI 10 OS version was also announced but just like Mi Mix 2S, it runs on previous OS version because MIUI 10 aka MIUI X happens to be the latest Xiaomi Android version.
Sadly the newly launched Mi 8 smartphone and it's alterations runs on older MIUI 9.5 version out of the box.
Unlike Google which announces Pixel phones with new Android version, like Pixel 3 will come out with Android P version but Xiaomi didn't. It's happy in dividing the news into two parts. First the launch and then the update part after few days.
Xiaomi's representative talked about it at the event and also confirmed that Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 Explorer Edition will get the MIUI 10 OTA update within no time, maybe by the second week of June 2018. By the device is available in most countries, the Android P based MIUI update will begun roll-out and you might see your device seeding the update once you open the new package.
Along with the Mi 8 alterations, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix, Mi 6X, Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, Redmi S2, and Redmi Note 5 will get the upgraded in June month.
