We know that Sony is preparing for the launch of Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact smartphones. After last weeks AnTuTu listing of Sony Xperia G8441 smartphone, long rumored and expected “Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact” now gets benchmarked on Geekbench website.
Listed as Sony G8441, the is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and packs a 4 GB RAM inside. It runs on Android 8.0 out of the box and that surprises us because Android 8.0 is not yet announced, it’s still in Developer Preview mode. So, will it be the first Android O phone?
The device gets 1834 in the single core and 6232 in the multi-core test, suggesting that the device has mid-range specifications but with currently trending dual camera setup.
The AnTuTu Benchmark listing of the device reveals that it has a dual camera set up with 8 mega pixel + 8 mega pixel sensor. It has 32 GB inbuilt memory and 720p HD display resolution.
The Xperia XZ1 carries model number G8341 and so it’s logical for Compact version of it to have the G8441 as the model number.
Sony has chosen IFA 2017 event to launch their upcoming Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact phones.
Is it too late for Sony to unveil a dual camera phone, considering the competition in this smartphone camera segment has become fierce?
