Hours spent on the Mobiles have come out as reports reported by one of the Apps, App Anie. As per the new study, the most active users (top 20 percent) in these countries including India spent more than four hours per day in apps.
It looked at the top nine countries in terms of total hours spent in apps on Android phones and found that in half of those countries ( South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and India), the top 20% (meaning the most active users) spent over four hours per day in apps.
The report stressed on the fact that “In Mexico and Brazil, users at the median spent three hours per day in apps. In India, users at the median spent slightly less — a bit more than 2.5 hours per day. In all three countries, those at the bottom 20 percent still spent 1.5 hours per day in apps.”
In an elaborated manner, the report also maintained that active users spent close to 2.5 hours a day and the least active users spend 1.5 hours.
Again, when it comes to the compared facts of the countries being on mobiles, relating to finance, Indians spend 30 minutes per month while Brazil users spend 45 minutes and South Koreans spent 60 minutes. Other nations like US, UK, and France were spending less than 20 minutes.
Forrester, a global research firm predicted in July that the global mobile device usage is expected to reach more than 5.5 billion users by 2022. Android captures 73% of market share while iOS at 21%. WhatsApp has about 250 million users per month.
The study states that Games rank number 1 in terms of gross revenues in each of these countries across the board (on Google Play, not accounting for third-party Android stores).
United States, South Korea, and the United Kingdom qualified as well-established ones, whereas India, Brazil and Mexico have been kept under “emerging market”.
When it comes to categories, shopping apps, travel, and games emerged as the top categories where people were spending most of their time.
Interestingly, on one side the report states – ‘percentage usage of the mobiles by people‘ and on the other hand there are games that are so fierceful enough to take one’s life. As for the balancing of the usage of technology, spending time with people also matters and reports regarding the same should be positive and favorable with the people being aware!
