Reliance Jio unveiled JioPhone feature phone on July 21st and it will be available from-order from August 24th. As of now, the single SIM variant will be up for sale but there will be a JioPhone Dual SIM variant too.
In the dual SIM variant of the JioPhone, the first SIM will be locked for JIO 4G and the second card slot can run any of the other mobile operator SIM. It will be released only after few weeks JioPhone shipping, which starts from September. According to a source, somewhere in October, the device will be unveiled.
Indians are addictive of dual SIM smartphones. For those who purchase flagship phones like Galaxy S8, iPhone 7, comes up with only one SIM card slot. Those owners often maintain a secondary featured phone to receive/make calls. JioPhone could a nice option for them.
To recall you from the recent announcement, Reliance Infocomm Chairman, Mukesh Ambani announced JioPhone at company’s AGM. It’s a revolutionary featured phone with a 4G VoLTE support and it comes with TV-Cable. Using it you can connect the device to with TV to watch live TV shows and sports streaming. TV cable on JioPhone will support not only Smart TVs but also CRT TV’s and the TV Pack is priced at Rs 309 per month.
In terms of specifications and JioPhone features, we have the device with 2.4-inch QVGA display and comes with 2 mega pixel rear and 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera. It will be powered by a quad core processor with either Qualcomm Snapdragon or Spreadtrum chipset inside. The phone includes a digital voice assistant.
