It was only yesterday that Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Group entered into telecom sector with the launch of Swadeshi Samridhi SIM card tied up with BSNL has now stepped into competition with WhatsApp. It has announced Kimbho text and video chat app.
Kimbho is a Sanskrit word which means What's going on and what's the news. It's an AES encrypted chatting application and comes with ghost chat and auto-deletion of messages. Just like WhatsApp and other popular social messaging app, the Kimbho comes supports videos, photos, doodles, stickers, and GIF among the others. It also comes with video chatting support.
SK Tijarawala, Patanjali Spokesperson said:
"Now India will talk. After launching SIM cards, Baba Ramdev has launched a new messaging application called Kimbho. Now Whats App will be given competition.”
Within hours of launch, Kimbho has got more than 20,000 downloads on its Play Store app with a rating of 3.9 stars. The app has a meager size of 12 MB and just like other apps it needs permission like microphone, contacts, videos, WiFi, photos, device ID and others.
The Kimbho Android app supports Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi, Marathi, Telugu and Bengali local languages right now. It will add support for more languages in coming days. Here is the Kimbho Play Store listing.
