HMD Global recently rolled-out Android 8.0 Oreo update to Nokia 8, the company will roll out the same update to Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 smartphones. HMD Global is proud to announce the Android Oreo update as planned and it’s well on track.

Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global‘s Chief Product Officer confirmed that Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones are the next. The Oreo beta testing for the these company’s smartphone has already begun. Not many devices in the catalog is one of the reasons why Nokia 8 is among the early devices to get the Oreo update.

This news comes right within a couple of hours of Android 8.0 roll-out to Nokia 8 smartphone. Company long ago confirmed that all Nokia smartphones launched by HMD Global will be updated not only to Android Oreo but also to upcoming Android P version. The Android P testing will begin in the first half of 2018, possibly after Mobile World Congress 2018 event.

Nokia 6 TA-1000 sports a 5.5 inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and available in two different storage/RAM model of 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. It has 16 mega pixel rear and 8 mega pixel front facing camera¬†with decent 3000 mAh Battery.

Nokia 5 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and 5.2-inch 1280 x 720 pixels HD with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset coupled with 2 GB/3 GB RAM with 16 GB storage. It has 13 mega pixel rear camera and 8 mega pixel front facing camera with 3000 mAh battery.

Company will send out an update notification when the update is available and maybe it could be rolled-out by the end of the year or early next year. Moreover, we will let you know when the update is available.
