After the brief Android 8.1 Oreo roll-out to the flagship Nokia 8 smartphone last month, it’s the time for the second batch of Nokia Android phones to get the upgrade as expected. It’s Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 devices which are seeing the Android 8.1 Oreo upgrade.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update happens to be the second major update to the HMD’s announced Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 (2017) smartphones which were running on Android Nougat out of the box.

The Android 8.1 update brings out several bug fixes and improvements which includes  Hamburger emoji fix, Neural Networks API, latest optimization, and security patch.

The update also brings battery saving navigation button, Bluetooth battery percentage, and a new settings menu.

Talking about the updates, it weighs 933 and 866 MB for the Nokia 6(2017) and Nokia 5 smartphones respectively. With this update, the security patch level has been upgraded to the latest March 2018 update.

Talking about more Nokia phones Android update, the company has confirmed that Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 will soon this 8.1 update before Android P is available to all the devices.
