Meizu Technology Co. Ltd has announced Meizu A5, an entry level smartphone in the ‘A Series’ in China. It competes with the most famous ‘Xiaomi 4A’ with near similar specifications.
Meizu A5 Specifications: In terms of hardware, the Meizu A5 comes with a 5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution providing 400 nits of brightness and 1000:1 contract ratio. It has become very hard to find a device with that display size because almost all the phones these days come with 5.5-inch screen size.
It’s equipped with a larger 3060 mAh battery, which is very exceptionally good for a device of that screen size. It can give you nearly two days of battery life upon normal usage, however, Meizu didn’t include any tech specs on standby time or talk time in hours that it provides under typical conditions.
The Meizu A5 is powered by a Mediatek MT6737 quad core processor with Mali T720 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB inbuilt storage. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Flyme OS 6 custom skin on top out of the box.
Coming to cameras, we have 5 mega pixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 8 mega pixel rear camera with dual toned LED flash, PDAF with f/2.0 aperture.
It’s a Hybrid dual SIM device with SIM 2 either supports a secondary SIM or micro SD card, expandable up to 128 GB. The device has a thickness of 8.3 mm and weighs 140 grams.
Meizu A5 Price
The Meizu A5 is priced at 699 yuan ($103 USD) and available for purchase from Meizu’s official website in China. Currently, it’s only available Matte Black color. Availability outside China isn’t expected.
