BlackBerry Athena with model number BBF100-4 gets TENAA Certified

BlackBerry Athena

BlackBerry Keyone has done enough to qualify for having a successor and BlackBerry Athena might be the one. Overall 850,000 units of KEYone were sold until now and it's the right time to have a successor.

A mysterious BlackBerry smartphone with model number BBF100-4 was spotted on TENAA. The device was first spotted earlier this month and now it's TENAA certified, which means China launch is near.

Apparently, the device will be named as BlackBerry Athena or BlackBerry Keyone 2 or BlackBerry Keyone (2018) or simply BlackBerry KEY2 is not known yet.

Just like it's predecessor, the new BBF100-4 is equipped with QWERTY keyboard and above it is the touchscreen display with 3:2 aspect ratio. That's pretty similar to its predecessor and so it's safe to assume that it will have similar or upgraded specs than Keyone.

The BlackBerry BBF100-4 leak shows the device with a 3.5 mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.
