As buzzed and talked over, an upgrade on the iPad Pro line has been finally made official by Apple at the annual WWDC conference 2017, a day where Cupertino tech giant announced HomePod wireless speakers, iOS 11 and a new iMac Pro.
Talking about the iPads, the Company also unveiled 10.5-inch iPad Pro, refreshed 12.9-inch iPad Pro is the upgrade to its iPad Pro(launched in 2015). The Touch ID feature seems to be present as against the leaks of it not being a standalone. On the other hand, there are changes found in software and hardware of the product.
Apple has redesigned Retina display offering great responsiveness and smoother motion control, thanks to ProMotion technology. The displays support up to 120 Hz fluid scrolling rate and could switch to a lower one if the battery needs to be conserved. It goes nicely with the Apple Pencil as it now offers “industry-leading” 20 ms latency.
The Instant Notes helps to take notes from the lock screen by just tapping the Pencil on the display. Again new features are expected to be added to iOS 11. It will ship with iOS 10 initially and will be updated to iOS 11 upon release through Over the Air update. It supports wide color gamut, offering an increased brightness of 600 nits, also being low reflective. The new iPad lineup is powered by a new A10x Fusion chip. The new features would include, customizable Dock, all-new Files App, improved multitasking and deeper integration of Apple Pencil.

Greg Joswiak, Vice President of Product Marketing said, “These are by far the most powerful iPads we’ve ever created with the world’s most advanced displays featuring ProMotion, the powerful new A10X Fusion chip and the advanced camera system of iPhone 7”. There is 12 megapixel FaceTime camera on the rear with image stabilization and 7-megapixel selfie camera on the front. He added, “Together with iOS 11 these new iPad Pro models will radically change what users can do with iPad.”
The performance of the new powerful 64-bit A10X Fusion chip is more than the PC or Laptop. It gives 40 percent faster graphical improvements and 30 percent faster CPU performance than the A9X chip.
Apple also promises that the new iPad models will provide 10 hours of battery life and available in 64 GB storage, 256 GB and 512 GB models.
The 10.5-inch iPad is available in Silver, space gray, gold and rose gold, starting at a price tag of $649. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is available in silver, space gray and gold and starts at $799.
