The TouchID option would be a ‘bygone factor’ when Apple would introduce the ‘facial recognition technology’ on board very soon. As per analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is ready to forego the ‘TouchID’ option and replace the same with the ‘biometric technology’. This rings a bell somewhere reflecting the rumors that the next generation iPhone 8 would lead the show without the TouchID. As per Ming-Chi Kuo iPhone 8 will have “the highest screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone currently available worldwide.”
As per the sources, Apple’s facial recognition engine would be powered by a 3D sensor built into the front-facing camera and Apple is testing eye scanning to “augment the system.” The system to unlock the phone would be more secure as told by Apple, as the technology avails the recognition of the face within few hundred milliseconds, which is far better than the finger print sensor technology.
Reports also say that this particular feature would work even when the phone is idle lying elsewhere. More data points capture is looked into by this technology of Apple. So if you want to unlock the Apple iPhone with the said feature, then you have to just get your face scanned by the phone.
It seems like Apple is testing faster displays with ProMotion technology for the next generation of iPhone 8. ProMotion display technology, introduced by Apple in the year 2017 for the iPads Pro includes 120Hz refresh rate for improvements to motion and animations.
Kuro’s prediction include –
1) OLED phones would resort to full-screen design, with the highest screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone currently available worldwide
2) The iPhone models are rolled out with 2H17, including an all-new design 5.2” and also OLED iPhone & LCD models including 4.7” & 5.5”.
3) OLED iPhone would support 3D sensing for facial recognition
4) We forecast shipments of the three new models in 2017F will be 80-85mn units, with an equal split between OLED & LCD versions.
Fewer color options for this phone is predicted. The announcement of “iPhone 7s,” “iPhone 7s Plus,” and “iPhone 8” is expected to be done in September, the launch, however, is to be done later. The iPhone 8 is speculated to have an edge-to-edge design.
There is said to be a shortage in supply which would make the audience wait, (for good though).
As customers and audience we are ever ready for new introductions from Apple.
