Android Smartphones now have a Lower Failure Rate Than iOS

There has been quite a tough ‘selection bar’ between iOS, and the Android. It is believed that for a very long time Android has not only been the favorite platform for different applications, but also has been a lifeline to the phones like Samsung, LG etc. iOS again has its place defined with the Apple phones.

The report of Blancco Technology Group, stated in its “Q1 2017 State of Mobile Device Performance and Health report” that the failure rate of the Android phones were comparatively low to the Apple devices. The math of the report says that Apple had sixty eight percent (68%) failures and that of the Android phones encountered with a fifty percent (50%) failure.

In Q4 2016, the Android devices faced a failure of forty seven percent (47%), whereas the clocked in failure percentage for iOS devices was sixty two percent (62%).

The report also said that the percentage for the failure being affected, in the case of iOS devices, specifically Apple, was due to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. These two phones came down on the statistics of reliability and hence, the picture hit the overall stats that led to an immense failure of the phones.

It is not always that the percentage rate would determine the counterpart is at the winning trend. In this context the Android phones like Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, LG, Motorola, were counted under the brands that are not very reliable. There seemed to be a failure rate of nine percent (9%) for Samsung Galaxy S7 and eight percent (8%) for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

It was noticed that the apps of Android OS crashed less compared to that of the iOS. However, the iOS devices raced in the areas of camera and cellular range. The cellular range issues of the Android phones were reported to be at six percent (6%) and the camera faults were recorded at three percent (3%) (Report – Q1 2017).

Reliability would be the reason for the increase or decrease in demand or even maintenance of the demand of a product in the market. Hence, it is up to the companies producing the OS to make their products more reliable.
