Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) got a major facelift makeover this year as Star Sports (organizer) planned to make this sporting event big. Early this year they organized first ever Kabaddi World Cup and now they have included four new city based franchise. To make things more interesting Sachin Tendulkar bought the Tamilnadu Kabaddi team after Star Sports sold the title sponsorship to Vivo for five years, who are also the Indian Premier League title sponsors.

Haryana Steelers represents Haryana Kabaddi team from cities like Sonipat, Rohtak, Panipat, Gurugram, Hisar, Jind, Narnaul, Hansi, Sirsa and other Haryana state towns and cities.

Apart from Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Tamilnadu are the other newly inducted teams, set to debut this year.

Haryana team entered into the Pro Kabaddi after JSW Sports brought the team and also added Ranbir Singh Khokkar as the coach. Ranbir Singh is the most experienced coach for Kabaddi and he led India to gold medals at the 1990 Asian Games and the Asian Indoor games 2013.
