Mumbai Indians thrash Kings XI Punjab, Hashim Amla’s Maiden Ton in vain

Mumbai Indians easily chase down a target of 199 as they defeated Kings XI Punjab in the 22nd league match of Vivo IPL 2017. After winning the toss, Mumbai Indian captain, Rohit Sharma elected to bowl first but his choice back-fired as KXIP openers added 46 runs in 5.5 overs. Opener Shaun Marsh added 26 off 21 balls and Hashim Amla was in special touch as he scored century of IPL 2017 and remained 104 not out off 60 balls. KXIP Captain, Maxwell quickly rushed to play cameo, 40 off 18 balls with three sixes and four boundaries. Amla hit 6 sixes in his first IPL century ever. At the end, KXIP finished with 198 for 4 on the scoreboard. All the Mumbai Indian bowlers gave away many runs and pick of the bowlers was Mitchell McClenaghan who picked up two wickets.

In reply to KXIP score, Mumbai Indians openers were in solid touch as they added 81 runs for the first wicket partnership. Parthiv Patel was dismissed by Stoinis on 37 off 18 balls. Opener Jos Buttler and Nitish Rana added quickfire 83 runs in 44 balls for the second wicket after Buttler was dismissed by Mohit Sharma in the 14th over, a wicket too late for Kings XI.
