A scintillating batting display by Kane Williamson, 89 off 51 balls guided Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to dismantle Delhi Daredevils in the 21st match of Vivo Indian Premier League 2017 (IPL 2017). This is SRH’s fourth win this season and all of them have come at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Captain, David Warner won the toss and elected to bat first. Opening the inning, he was dismissed¬†first time in a single-digit score in his last 19 T20 innings. Kane Williamson, a replacement to Mohammad Nabi, also playing his first IPL match this season, made a match-winning 89 runs off 51 balls. Williamson was unstoppable as he and Shikhar Dhawan added 136 runs for the second wicket partnership as the New Zeland’s destructive batsman hit 5 sixes and 6 fours. Shikhar Dhawan scored 70 runs off 50 balls. Sunrisers put 191 on scoreboard and pick of the bowlers was Chris Morris who picked up all four wickets to fall.

In reply to a target of 192, Delhi Daredevils struggled early as Sam Billings was dismissed¬†in the second over of the inning. Debutant Mohammad Siraj, also dismissed inform Sanju Samson in the 14th over and returned with a bowling figure of 2 for 39 in four overs. For the time this IPL, Rashid Khan went wicketless but that didn’t stop Hyderabad from winning the match at the end by 15 runs.

For Delhi, Shreyas Iyer scored a half-century, 50 in 31 balls and Sanju Samson scored 42 runs in 33 balls. Probably they should have sent in-form Chris Morris ahead of Angelo Mathews. For Delhi Daredevils, batting order remains a big question. Karun Nair has struggled early-on.
