After two straight losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is back at winning streak as they have won against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by five runs in the 19th match of Vivo Indian Premier League 2017(IPL 10) in front of their home crowd. It was the second close finish of the season as early in the day, KKR beat Delhi Daredevils in the penultimate ball of the inning.

Opting to bowl first, KXIP captain Glenn Maxwell couldn’t have been so happier as his bowlers reduced home team to 50 for 3 in 9.2 overs. Shikhar Dhawan, who has axed from national Cricket team struggled yet again as he scored 15 runs in 15 balls. His strike rate of 112.5 this IPL is the slowest among all batsmen who have faced 100 or more balls. SRH wicket-keeper looked in good touch as he added quickfire 34 runs in 20 balls. SRH Captain, David Warner carried the bat, as he remained not out on 70 runs in 54 balls. Sunrisers posted a competitive total of 159 on a slower pitch.

Sunrisers are always a great bowling unit at home. Bhubaneshwar Kumar exploited those early cracks on the pitch as he trapped Hashim Amla leg-before-wicket (LBW) in the first ball of the inning. Bhubaneshwar then removed Glenn Maxwell in his second over to pull back things. The first Afghanistan players to play IPL, worked hard to pick 3 wickets for 5 runs between overs 8 and 10. At the end, Bhubaneshwar picked up his IPL best figure of 5 for 19 as none of the batsman except Manan Vohra were able to face more than 18 balls. Vohra’s 95 in 50 balls is one of the IPL’s great backs-to-the-walls innings as he revised an amazing chase as wickets tumbled at another end.

Sunrisers now have 3 wins in 5 games and they remained undefeated at home this season.
