Samsung Galaxy XCover series is since years and from the first Samsung Galaxy XCover phone announced back in August 2011, the XCover series is now into the fourth generation with Galaxy Xcover 4 SM-G390F released in April 2017. The Xcover lineup is now faded and the South Korean smartphone is preparing to launch Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 smartphone.
Over the follow-up models, certain things remain same and only a few changes are applied. The latest Xcover 5 could be borrowing design features from newly launched Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.
Xcover series is known for ultimate protection and so the phones receive the IP-68 and guarantee US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G to withstand drops, high or low temperatures, mechanical shocks, intense sunlight and saltwater mist.
Under the hood, the Galaxy XCover 5 phone could be powered by proprietary Exynos 9810 Octa core CPU and will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo, if not Android P version out of the box with Samsung TouchWiz customization on the top. The Mali-G72 MP18 GPU chip will handle the graphical processing.
The phone can be used even wearing gloves and those mechanical buttons at the bottom will stay intact.
The device will have 32 GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded further up to 256 GB using a micro SD card. It’s coupled with 3 GB of RAM.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 Release Date:
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 will be available in European countries and it will not be a surprise if reaches shores in Canada because predecessor Galaxy Xcover 4 was sold by Telus, Rogers, Videotron, and Freedom Mobile carriers.
Samsung will announce XCover 5 phone by June or July 2018 and will make its availability by August and September in most parts of the world.

The Galaxy XCover 5 price is expected to be around $500 for the unlocked variant.
