Samsung India on Friday introduced a new smartphone called the Galaxy On Max. It’s a rebranded Galaxy J7 Max phone and exclusively available on Flipkart at a price of Rs. 16,900.

Samsung says that it’s their ‘flagship camera phone‘ because it will provide amazing camera features that no phones at this price range offer. To elaborate, we have a 13 mega pixel rear facing camera with f/1.7 aperture and company talks about shots under low light conditions. The phones come with 13 mega pixel front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture allowing you to snap selfies in the dark as well.

Samsung has added ‘Social Camera Mode‘ apart from ‘Beauty Mode’ in their camera, users can produce live stickers with the cameras and quickly share them on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Snapchat or WhatsApp.

With those features, Samsung has unveiled a war on Vivo and Oppo who focuses more on phone’s camera, especially front camera for selfies and video calling. It targets Vivo V5s, Oppo F3 and other budget camera phones available under Rs 20,000 in India.

The Samsung Galaxy On Max specifications reads as 5.7-inch LCD display with a 1280 x 720 pixels. That’s pretty much sad because, at this price tag, you can easily find a smartphone with full HD display but Samsung has a clear focus in mind.

Under the hood, it’s powered by a 2.3 GHz Octa-core CPU with Mediatek Helio P20 chipset and Mali T880 GPU handling the graphic unit. It has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage(23.9 GB is user available). It runs on Android Nougat out of the box, features Samsung Pay Mini for mobile payments and extracts power from 3300 mAh battery.

It’s a dual SIM handset with 4G VoLTE support and a micro SD card slot supporting expansion up to 256 GB. From the connectivity front, we have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi tether, 3.5 mm headphone jack and a traditional micro USB port.

Samsung Galaxy On Max price is set to be Rs 16,999 on Flipkart and available in Black and Gold color from 10th July 2017.
