Samsung was expected to announce two new smartphones and it was only a couple of days back that Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 were revealed to be the two handsets. Although rumors were true but the devices name were different. It’s Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 Duo that were officially announced for the Indian market. The company also launched Galaxy A6 and A6+ as expected along with Galaxy S Lite luxury edition.
Both the devices have many similarities between them with Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio with a 2.5D curved glass and will be available in Black, Blue, and Gold color options.
The Samsung Galaxy J6 sports 5.6 inch Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass display while similar stuff is present on bigger brother J8 but with a bigger 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display.
While the Galaxy J6 runs on home-grown Exynos 7870 chipset, the Galaxy J8 Duo is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt memory. The Galaxy J6 will be available in two different models of 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM model with 64 GB storage. Both includes a micro SD card slot supporting expansion up to 256 Gb and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Coming to the optics, the Samsung Galaxy J8 has a dual camera setup with 16 MP + 5 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. The Galaxy J6, on the other hand, is with 13 MP rear and 8 MP front camera. Both handsets have a fingerprint sensor with them and are backed by a 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh battery respectively.
The Galaxy J8 Price in India is said to be 18,990 while the Galaxy J6 price starts at 13,990 for the 3 GB model and the 4 GB model costs 16,490. It will be available for purchase from July in India.
