Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 gets February Security Patch Update

Android releases security patch every month and for the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 SM-A520F it’s the February 2019 security patch are being rolled-out.

Today morning we received the update notification weighing 404 MB and it happens to be February 2018 security patch to the device. The phone still runs on Android 7.0 Nougat version. The update also brings stability and bug fix improvements. Apart from that, the build number has been updated from S2BQK7 to U4BRB7 from the previous update.

In order to get this software update on your phone, you will have to be connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi in order to download the 404 MB file size first. Many users might have received the update notification on the device and if you haven’t you can even force check manually.

If you have the update notification, follow the on-screen instructions to update. In order to force check for the update, you should go to Settings > Software Update and then tap on Download updates manually.

The update could take around 20 minutes of time and it will be downloaded first and then installed. You can even schedule the update or install the updates overnight.
