HMD Global has taken over the leadership when it comes to software updates. As promised, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 2018 have started receiving their Android 8.1 Oreo update via Over the Air update. Users in India have reported successful upgrade after they have received the update notification and it happens to be a sweet treat to them after April Fools day.

This Android 8.1 update to HMD phones brings the April Security patch and also brings out new features such as battery saving navigation button, revamped power menu, new Settings Menu, and Bluetooth battery percentage indicator.

The 8.1 Oreo update to Nokia 6 2018 weighs 801.4 MB and that for Nokia 7 Plus weighs 590.2 MB.

The software update to your device can take any thing between 20-30 minutes depending upon the speed of your Internet/Mobile Data.

If you don’t see any update notification on your device, then you can request for manual upgrade by going through Settings > About Phone and then tap on Software Update.

It was only last week that HMD Global announced these smartphones in India with Android 8.0 Oreo. So, that means that as soon as the buyers connect their phone to Wi-Fi or Mobile Data, they will see the Android 8.1 Oreo update available to them.
