Super Affordable Nokia 2 Smartphone Launched in South Africa at $117

HMD Global’s first entry-level Nokia 2 Smartphone is now available in South Africa at $117 after debut in Russia & launch in India.

HMD Global has identified India, China and South Africa has market of opportunity and as such they haven’t delayed at all regarding their new devices availability after announcement in this markets.

Nokia 2 smartphone was announced couple of weeks back and after it went on for sale in Russia, the device now makes to South Africa as well. Vodacom has exclusive rights to sell HMD Global manufactured Nokia smartphones in this part of the world and it carries a price tag of ZAR 1,699, i.e., $117. In Russia the device is costing $18 costlier.

Strangely the device was announced in India and it still not available at stores. It’s an entry level device. Going through Nokia 2 specifications, 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixels HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. In terms of optics, it comes with a 8 mega pixel rear and 5 mega pixel front facing camera.

Under the hood, it’s powered by a Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz and coupled with 1 GB of RAM with 8 GB of inbuilt storage. The storage can be expanded using a micro SD card supporting up to 128 GB of storage. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

The USP of the device is the 4100 mAh battery which gives you two days of usage time on normal and it’s available in Pewter/Black, Pewter/White, Copper/Black color variants.
