June 21 was declared to be the International Yoga Day in the year 2015 by the United Nation as of June 21, 2017, Indian Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi inspired millions of peoples worldwide to perform Yoga daily. During the 3rd Yoga Day celebration in India (Yoga Day 2017), ‘God’ showered rain as Shri Narendra Modi along with thousands of people gathered in a session to perform asanas. The Prime Minister led the celebrations from the holy Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh state. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath was also present in the celebration. In Gujarat, Baba Ramdev and the Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah led the celebration.

It was in the early rise that people joined all over the nation and the world in different locations, celebrating the event of ‘Yoga day‘ which gives a proud feeling of we being an Indian. The activist and actor Anupam Kher opened the event at New York where ‘Yoga International Day’ was being celebrated. He said “It’s great, great feeling, personally for me as an Indian, as a citizen of the world and (with the global recognition of) yoga today.”

Sri Modi said “I welcome all yoga lovers present here and those performing yoga in various corners of the world. Today, yoga has become a part of so many lives. Yoga’s popularity out of India is high and it has connected the world with India.”

At the dockyard in Mumbai and on board the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, Officers of Indian Navy held the yoga events. The International Yoga Day is being celebrated in 180 nations and some of the nations like China and UK have scheduled the event throughout the week. Images of yoga postures have been put up in the UN headquarters in New York.

Pertaining to the amazing celebration, the UN Postal Administration is issuing a set of 10 stamps and each depicts different asanas. These ten stamps which are of a denomination of $1.15 depicts a different ‘yoga pose’ next to a large ‘Om‘ which is in Devanagiri script.

Sri Narendra Modi reiterated in the event in Lucknow, “It is not important to perform yoga for 24 hours. 50 or 60 minutes (is fine) because it lends harmony to the body, mind, and intellect. If 1.25 billion Indians and people around the world can attain this state of well-being, then humankind can also tide over problems born out of human thoughts”.

The event will be a milestone in getting together the nations around the world with one thought of admiration and peace reports said.
