Xiaomi MIUI 9.5 Update Roll-out Completed as Scheduled

Xiaomi MIUI 9.5 update is announced and will be rolled out officially for 30 smartphones by the end of April. This update will be out before the MIUI 10 update and will be out immediately.

The MIUI 9 is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and it’s available for most of the Xiaomi phones and tablets. After the intermediate 9.2 release, the incremental update is dubbed as MIUI 9.5 globally.

The MIUI 9.5 global stable ROM has started rolling out for selected smartphones in the Redmi, and Mi series and the company has planned to roll-out the update to more than two dozens of devices over the next few months.

Here is the list of the smartphones which are confirmed to get MIUI 9.5 software update through OTA(Over the Air). According to MIUI thread, the update will be pushed to owners of above-mentioned devices via over-the-air update(OTA) in a phase-wise manner.

So, that’s a long list. Xiaomi has a task in hand this summer.


By the end of the March month, the latest MIUI build will be rolled out for Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 3S and Redmi Note 4 powered by MediaTek processor.

The update will be rolled out to Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5A Prime/Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite/Redmi Note 5A, Mi Max 2, Mi 5, Redmi 4X, Mi Mix 2 and Mi 6 by the first week of April 2018.

By mid-April, Xiaomi plans to roll-out the update for Mi Note 3, Mi Note 2, Mi 5S, Mi Mix, Mi 5S Plus, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 4, Redmi 3, Mi 3, and Mi 4. That’s the tentative timeline and it may be delayed by a couple of days.

The update is currently rolled out to Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 4 with Qualcomm (Redmi Note 4x), Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max and Mi Max Prime and Redmi Note 3 powered by Qualcomm chipset.

Install MIUI 9.5 Stable ROM

You need to flash Xiaomi phone with MIUI 9.5 using fastboot. Once the fastboot ROM are available, you need to have Mi Flash Tool and enter your device in the recovery mode to flash.

It’s quite interesting to see that Xiaomi still cares about the older smartphone which was unveiled three years back but on the other side do note that this update is based on older Android version.
