Normally, all Chinese smartphone vendors don’t participate in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018) and they keep their best for the Mobile World Congress. This year MWC 2018 event will be held from February 26 and apart from Nokia’s big event, Xiaomi has also geared up to make an appearance at the world’s biggest technology event dedicated to mobile and gadgets. Xiaomi executives confirmed the news through a blog post on Weibo. According to the post, Xiaomi H.K.Limited will be one of the exhibitors and hence it’s safe to say that there will be new product announcement.
It’s expected that Xiaomi will launch the Mi 7 smartphone at MWC and could be armed with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset which is expected to power almost all the flagship devices in 2018. Galaxy S9, S9 Plus does have it and so does the upcoming HTC U12 and LG G7.
An alleged render of Xiaomi Mi7 has appeared on Naijatechguide website showing the rear side of the device. Going through the picture, as seen, the device has a dual camera setup with dual LED flash placed on the top left side and below there is a fingerprint scanner unit. There is also MI logo printed at the bottom.
According to Wccftech, the Mi7 is expected to feature wireless charging support and this new addition to Xiaomi accessories lineup guarantees that it will be the cheapest wireless charger. Further digging deep into rumors news, it could borrow Mi Mix 2 bezel-less design with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Just like other Xiaomi handsets, this could be available in several storage and RAM variants.
Talking about the Xiaomi Mi 7 price, it could be well within the budget range and apart from availability in China, the device will be sold in India, Malaysia, Singapore and new destinations like Spain and other western European countries.
