More than a year ago Xiaomi came to India with the bang through the online store platform. Xiaomi pipped Samsung, Micromax to become the most preferred smartphone brand in India. Now, they are targeting the offline stores for their products.
The replication of the efficiency on offline stores seemed to be a good decision for Xiaomi as their focus to be a compatible supplier of the product has fallen in place.
Mi Home is supposed to be the dubbed version of Xiaomi. The company has now opened its first Mi Home store in India in Bengaluru, however, the store will be accessible to the public on May 20, 2017.
In this context, the Mi Home and Mi.com are linked together and go hand in hand as they give the opportunity to the customers to buy directly from here. This means the queries and the issues can be solved directly with the company’s physical store.
The store will feature a range of Smartphones, power banks, air purifiers and other ecosystem products. The company plans to open stores in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai. It seems like the Company aims to hold the ‘hefty’ market in the prime areas first. The stores at present are run by partners till the company gets its license as a single brand retail operator in the country.
The managing director of Xiaomi, Mr. Manu Kumar Jain said, “In a typical offline distribution system, the consumer typically pays for the inefficiencies – simply because there are so many layers”. These kinds of issues will be addressed now.
Mr. Kumar also said that the stores can be run in the Malls, Standalone, high streets or even in an IT building or large office building. The company operates 70 Mi stores in Greater China and had a count of 500,000 walk-ins during the Mi festival last month. In the festival, the sales of the company crossed Rs 75 crore.
Mr. Kumar also emphasized through a cue, that the Xioami products displayed in the offline stores, will suit the Indian market well, though no specific information was given by him in this regard. The company is interested in providing an internet connected echo system products to India and also allowing the customers to understand the philosophy of the products along with inviting feedback so as to get the compatibility more prompt and customer-oriented.
On the whole, the Xiaomi aims at providing an Internet efficiency to cover service and user experience through offline stores and e-commerce.
