Finally, the update is arriving to Verizon wireless customers who hold this smartphone.

Verizon wireless has send out OTA notification all the Moto G4 play XT1609 users and if you have received one such notification then tap on the notification in order to update your device to the latest security patch available.
This is a major software update file size is expected to be more than 1 GB. If you have unlimited Verizon plan then go ahead and download directly but if you have a limited Internet plan then it’s recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi.
If you haven’t received an update notification on your device then you can forget about the manual update by going through Settings > About Phone menu and then tap on Software Update. This update doesn’t require any wire or PC connectivity.
If you still can’t see any updates, you will better have to wait for few days because this happens to be a phase-wise roll-out.
