Compared to previous year, this new Android version roll-out is pretty fast. Already Pixel, Pixel XL, Nokia 8, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ and XZs are on the latest version of the Android. As promised the Oreo update is now available to HTC U11 globally to all the unlocked variant of the device.
Mo Versi, Vice President of Product Management at HTC has confirmed that the Android Oreo update to HTC U11 is now rolling out after it was made available for users in Taiwan. Sadly Mo Versi didn't comment on countries which will get the update first and no ETA is available but all the unlocked U11 phablet users in the world should get the update notification by the week's end.
HTC has always lived up to the expectations of the latest Android updates as it happens. Normally they deliver the latest software build within 90 days from the official date of the announcement and it's true in the case of HTC U11 this time as well. The U11 Oreo update will also happen to T-Mobile, Sprint, and other carrier-variants worldwide in coming weeks.
HTC U11 is a true successor to HTC U10 smartphone introduced in May 2017. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled with 12 megapixel rear and 16 mega pixel front facing camera. It's available in two different variants of 4 GB RAM with 64 GB built-in storage and 6 GB RAM variant with 128 GB built-in storage.
It has a 5.5 inch 2560 x 1440 Super LCD5 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It has a front-mounted fingerprint sensor and gets powered by a 3000 mAh battery.
