Tata Motors has confirmed Nexon, their first compact SUV will be launched in Diwali this year. Ahead of the official first week of August 2017 booking, the unofficial dealership-level Tata Nexon booking has already begun.
It’s reported that some Tata dealerships are accepting early reservations with a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Nexon is Tata’s reply to Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza and Ford EcoSport which currently dominates the compact SUV car segment.
Tata Motors is expecting big with its new compact SUV. Company has already announced Nexon engine specifications. It will be available in both petrol and diesel powertrain options with a price in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh(all features higher model). It’s powered by a 1.2L three-cylinder petrol from Revotron series and 1.5L four cylinder oil-burner diesel engine from Revotorq series, both developed & manufactured in-house.The company is yet to reveal fuel efficiency figures.These engines are manufactured by taking inputs from suppliers including AVL, Honeywell, Mahale and Bosch and are designed at Pune plant.

The company is yet to reveal fuel efficiency figures. It gets multi-drive modes – Eco, Sport and City. Nexon, a short form of term ‘Next-on’ was first spotted at Auto Expo 2016.
