A new device named "Xperia Z5 Compact" was spotted at GeekBench earlier today with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Mobile Platform.
It passed the GeekBench test on August 11th and according to the list the Xperia ZG Compact runs with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. The device achieves 1349 in the single core and 3049 in the multi-core test results. So, that's pretty similar to what Xperia Z5 Compact has to offer.
Possibly Sony doesn't like number 6 and they don't want to rush using the number 7 with their Xperia Z lineup. This is why we are seeing more and more Xperia Z5 variants and also the Xperia XZ phones.
Sony at IFA 2017 will launch the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact smartphones. Both these devices were spotted several times in leak in the past couple of weeks and they deserve to get launched with the same name.
Talking about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, no other manufacturer has used it in 2017. Moreover all the flagship phones in 2017 are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. So, that's something hard to digest. Further, misprint happens sometimes, never know it's just another prank.
