It’s quite a long time since Samsung is running the Galaxy S Active line of smartphones which are dedicated especially for AT&T in the United States. The Active word adds waterproof/dustproof/sandproof grading to the popular Samsung flagship models every year.
Galaxy S8 Active T-Mobile
This year, the Galaxy S8 Active is headed to T-Mobile as well. Evan Blass at VentureBeat revealed that the phone will not just be solely available on Verizon. According to marketing materials, it will carry a model number as SM-G892T, which is pretty similar to AT&T variants with SM-G892A model number.
The Galaxy S8 Active is available for $850 in Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold colors.
Regarding the Galaxy S8 Active T-Mobile variant price and release date, there is no word on when it will be available. Expected price maybe $850.
Furthermore, a couple of days back a new Samsung phone with model number SM-G892U was listed on Wi-Fi Alliance website and use of ‘U’ in the end could mean ‘Unlocked’. So, that’s also yet another possibility regarding the device.
In comparison with Galaxy S8, the Active variant offers upgraded features like fully rugged and durability. Furthermore, it has a larger 4000 mAh battery as compared to S8’s 3000 mAh. It’s a MIL-STD-810G compliant device for being sand, salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistant.
Clearly specifying the specifications, the S8 Active comes with 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display with 2960 x 1440 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 front and back panel. It features 3D Touch button integrated with the Home button and features Always-on Display.
Under the hood, it’s powered by an Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB built-in storage.
In terms of optics, it has 8 mega pixel front facing camera and 12 mega pixel rear camera with OIS. It’s among the few smartphones with IRIS scanner.
T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Active Price
The Galaxy S8 Active on T-Mobile will be priced at $950 for the unlocked handset.
