Social media is on its boom factor today and Facebook is one such media which has made people re-unite, popular, know the world better and much more.

The person behind this amazing network is Mark Zuckerberg, who has dared to dream what is a reality today. Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook in the dormitory of the Harvard University in 2004.

This remarkable man as a student dared to drop off from College (the Harvard Univesity) and focus on the concept on a more serious note.

Zuckerberg was at the university to give a graduation day speech and where he was going to receive the honorary Doctor of Laws degree. It was Harvard’s 366th graduation day ceremony. Mark gets Harvard degree after 12 years in the said ceremony.

Zuckerberg’s wife Priscilla Chan watched him receive the award and delivering the speech. This is where Mark met Priscilla Chan and said that meeting her was the best thing that happened to him in the University. Also when speaking to the students, he indicated at the dormitory where he had first created or launched Facebook.

Mark is considered to be the fifth richest person in the world with the worth of $62.3bn (£48.1bn). His message to the students was “not only create new jobs but create a new sense of purpose”. He also told the students at the ceremony that “We live in an unstable time”. For those who felt deprived due to massive globalization, his thoughts were shared through his encouraging words “There’s pressure to turn inwards,” and went further stating “This is the struggle of our time. The forces of freedom, openness and global community against the forces of authoritarianism, isolationism, and nationalism.”

On Wednesday, he did a live broadcast from his old dorm room. “This is literally where I sat,” he said pointing to the chair and a small wooden desk, which was inside Kirkland house. He looked at the camera and revealed “I had my little laptop here. And this is where I programmed Facebook.”
