Indian Premier League 2018 is going to be bigger and broader. The season begins from 7th April 2018 but the IPL 2018 auction is scheduled on January 27 and 28th. A total of 578 players will go under hammer and this list includes 360 capped and uncapped Indian players.
All franchise will roll-in with allocated purchase of Rs. 80 crores and each team can buy a maximum of 25 players. IPL 2018 Auction time is set to 9 AM on Jan 27 and 28 at Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru. You can watch IPL auction live broadcast on Star Network (Star Sports 1, Star HD) and Hotstar.
BCCI has officially released a list of all the players which will be auctioned. Among the list we have 36 players in 2 crore bracket and 32 players are in the 1.5 crore zone. Here is the look at players that are likely to receive attraction at the auction day -
Ben Stokes who set the IPL 10 on fire is once again received the highest bid this year as well. Last year he received a bid of 14.5 crore and was sold to Rising Pune Supergiants. Surprisingly, Rising Pune Supergiants were only there for two seasons and as Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals returns to the mix, RPS and Gujarat Lions teams are omitted now. Flamboyant Stokes led his team to IPL 10 final last year and performed very well with both bat and ball.
Rajasthan Royals purchased him and Steve Smith at a price of 12.5 crore. Ajinkya Rahane was sold for 4 crore.
RaviChandran Ashwin is the most successful Indian spinner all-rounder who is likely to receive highest bid this year. He is set with a reserve price of Rs 2 crore.
Colin Munro, the New Zealand T20 specialist is a dangerous batsman. He usually opens up for any team and he is surely will be among the players to watch out at this IPL auction.
Vijay Shankar with last year performances for Sunrisers Hyderabad has attracted few franchisee's interests.
Krunal Pandya, the Man of the Match at last year IPL is a bowling all-rounder and Mumbai Indians are likely to retain him. He is a brother of Hardik Pandya.
Aaron Finch is a destructive opening batsman. He is set at a reserve price of Rs 1.5 crore.
At current ongoing U19 T20 World cup, several players have hit the eyes of selectors and coaches of each franchise. Among them are Prithvi Shaw, Shubham Gill, young fast bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Rajneesh Gurbani, Sai Kishore. Apart from that K. Gowtham, Manish Pandey, Kuldeep Yadav, Gautam Gambhir, Ajinkya Rahane, Robin Uthappa, Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Jos Buttler.
Among the foreign players to watch out for at the auction are Chris Woakes, Chris Gayle, Quinton de Kock, Sam Billings, Kagiso Rabada, Rashid Khan and Adam Zampa.
