Huawei Nova 3 with 6.3″ Display, Quad Cameras and Kirin 970 SoC Announced

Quad camera smartphones are becoming quickly popular after Huawei P20 Pro and Honor 9i. It’s now available in the budget range in the United States with BLU Vivo X smartphone for a price of just $249. Taking on it is the newly announced Huawei Nova 3 smartphone at an event in China. Surprisingly, Huawei will be launching Nova 3 smartphone and Talkband B5 smartband on July 18th in China because it’s already listed on JD.com site.

The Huawei Nova 3 PAR-AL00 is the first smartphone in the world to have a top notch and quad cameras. It has a metal frame with 3D Curved glass on the rear side and a 2.5D curved glass on the front.

Going through the Huawei Nova 3 specs, the devices come with a larger 6.3 inch display thanks to that top notch and provides a 2340 x 1080 pixels full HD resolution with 19:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, the latest Huawei phone is powered by proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 970 Octa core processor clocked at 2.36 GHz and coupled with GPU Turbo, which is almost available on all the Huawei phones launched this year.

In terms of optics, the latest Huawei handset features 16 mega pixel RGB sensor and a 24 mega pixel Monochrome sensor with f/1.8 aperture. LED flash, and PDAF.

For selfies, the device comes with 24 mega pixel sensor with a 2 mega pixel secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage.

The device is backed by a 3750 mAh battery and support 9V/2A (18W) charging input. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo based EMUI 8.1 out of the box and it’s bound to get the EMUI 9 update based of Android P, which arrives later next year.

The phone is currently listed on JD.com with availability in Blue, Aqua and Yellow colors. There is no word said on price yet.

Huawei has confirmed the official launch date of Nova 3 phone as July 18 in China. In coming months it will be launched in Asia, Europe and other parts of the world.
