Amidst the chaos seen on the social platform of late, there is one boomerang who has come back to get the so-called isolated group of people on social media (even though being on the platform for a long time) with its new social platform called ‘Hello’ app.
Here is Orkut founder Buyukkokten, who said “If you look at social media today, it has isolated people instead of bringing them closer. It has become more about broadcasting than sharing. We need a fresh start. Hello social network app is built around interest-based communities where users with same interests can connect, leading to true connections.”
The founder of Orkut also informed “the aim to launch Hello is meaningful, create positive, sustained social engagement and authentic connections. Orkut was huge in India and I’m delighted to say hello to India once again. When a user signs up, they are asked about five things that they are passionate about and then get recommendations that are non-intrusive. We also ensure that every advertiser has a profile on hello (for greater accountability),”
Apart from all these, the main ‘vital’ factor seen in the ‘Hello’ platform is that this app does not share any personal information of the users to the third-party apps.
The ‘Hello’ social network app was launched in the year July 2016 in Brazil. There are one million downloads of it here.
The user data is not sold to anyone for revenues under this app that soothes our concern as we see lot of that happening on the social networking today.
In India the Hello beta testing version was done with 35000 users and now the company had planned to launch the same in India, France and US very soon.
It was twitted by the company to confirm that the app ‘Hello’ is now available in India from April 11, 2018.
You can choose personas based on your interest areas on the ‘Hello app’. It includes hobbies, obsessions and passions.
The company is headquartered at San Francisco and its development house is based at Mountain View, California.
Orkut was developed by Buyukkokten and was owned and operated by Google. However, it was shut down on September 30, 2014. After two years, ‘Hello’ came back as a new platform on the social media by Buyukkokten.
