After Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL launch last year, it’s time for its successor’s. The much awaited Google Pixel 3 is making rounds in leaks. An inquisitively new design phone which is on par with Galaxy S9 and also with the equal design of Apple’s overhauled iPhone 8 design is on the cart. Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president of hardware, has confirmed that there will be a new Pixel device this year.
It is speculated that just like Apple, Google also unveils its new devices in fall. The Pixel and Pixel XL, for example, were announced in October 2016 and went on sale in the same month. Similar things went on with Pixel 2 series as well. This year too we will have Pixel 3 XL which will compete with Apple’s iPhone 8 and Samsung’ Galaxy Note 9.
The Google Pixel 3 release date and its price are reported to be as mentioned below:
- Pixel 3 release date likely to be October 2010
- Expect a flagship price tag too
In terms of Pixel XL 3 specifications, it’s expected to sport a massive 5.99-inch OLED display with slim bezels, with the panel sourced from LG. It’s expected that there will be a shift in the display’s aspect ratio from 16:9 to 18:9 (like LG G6, but Galaxy S8 uses 18.5:9). The Android Police has stated Pixel 3 XL would feature a squeezable frame which can be assigned to a shortcut (like HTC U11). Apart from the features that are accompanied by “Vivid Colors” option, Google focuses a bit more on display customization this time around, more like other phones.
The system UI’s color palette will go back to the darker default theme we saw in earlier O Developer previews; the theme light theme set by default in Android O DP3 could have been a test or a mishap. When setting up the new Pixel XL 3, we are taken to g.co/pixelphonetour. There seems to be a new system font as well.
It was reported that Pixel and Pixel XL were identical except for size. The smaller Pixel 3 however, as per the report from Android Police, will not have the design changes of the Pixel 3 XL and instead be positioned as a cheaper model.
We have to wait and see the different aspects of the model which would be expected to hit the market soon.
