Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali has entered into an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to launch Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card. Actually, there was news since a couple of days about the Baba Ramdev's next big bet is the telecom sector.
But the surprises end there itself as these Swadeshi Samridhi SIM cards are not for the public and only available to Patanjali employees and office bearers.
Along with the SIM, company also announced few plans with it. All plans offer unlimited calls across the country with 2 GB of data pack and 100 SMSs per day.
The starting plan costs Rs 144 for a month and there is recharge offer for Rs 792 and Rs 1584. While validity periods of recharge is longer, benefits remain the same.
Rs 792 plan is valid for 180 days while the Rs. 1584 plan is valid for a year. The Rs. 144 Patanjali plan is not available in Delhi and Mumbai circle.
Included in the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards is the accidental and life insurance cover worth Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh in case of road accidents only.
If you want to get the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card, then you can visit any of the five lakh BSN counters across the country. Holders of the SIM card will get exclusive 10% discount on the Patanjali products.
So, finally the long rumors and news about the Patanjali SIM card has come true as Baba Ramdev steps in the telecom sector in one or the other way.
According to Baba Ramdev, this move is for the welfare of the country. He said:
"Patanjali's plan is BSNL's best plan. In Rs 144, one can make unlimited calls from any part of the country. We are giving 2 GB data pack, 100 SMSs. The members of the Patanjali has to just show their identity and there SIM will be activated soon after some paperwork."
