Apple has now finally announced iOS 11.1 after testing the beta for a week. This is the first major update the Apple has made after the launch of iOS 11 at Apple September event. iOS 11.1 is available for watchOS 4.1, macOS High Sierra 10.13.1. and tvOS 11.1.
The update is available to all the eligible device in the setting app. The eligible device list includes iPhone 5s and later, iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later, and the 6th generation iPad touch. The user needs to update it by accessing to Setting –> General —> Software Update.
The update does not include any new feature but it has a range of Unicode 10 emoji like crazy face, t-rex, vampire, exploding head, face vomiting, shushing face, love your gesture, brain, scarf, zebra, giraffe, fortune, cookie, pie, hedgehog, and more have been introduced in iOS 11.1. Several emojis has some design changed to experience more realistic and detailed emojis. Dolphin, bee, snail and whale have been edited.
Many improvements and bugs have been fixed. iOS 11.1 also restores the 3D touch gesture on iPhone 6s and later. This lets you touch the left edge of the display with pressure to enter multitasking or pull with pressure from left to right to switch between two apps. This 3D touch works differently on iPhone X. Previously it has been removed from Apple but now it has been introduced in the new iOS 11.1.
The update also addresses KRACK Wi-Fi vector that is used to protect many Wi-Fi networks.
Apple has also released new watchOS4.1 which supports streaming music and Radio. Apple really need to update Apple Pay Cash as it has been looked by many Apple users. Reports suggest that Apple is internally working to roll out in another update.
Apple introduced iOS 11 on September 19 and dozen of new features have been added. File App, Do Not Disturb while driving, a document scanning in the Notes app, a new app drawer in the Message App and many more have been introduced.
