Several Android-based smartwatch owners have reported that they see latest Android Wear 2.8 update now rolling to their devices. And just like other software updates, this roll-out does bring out few bug fixes and performance improvements but an important thing to notice is the inclusion of all new black theme.
According to Android Wear subreddit, several Android smartwatch owners have successfully update to the latest Android Wear build. According to latest images obtained from the reddit thread, the user interface is turned to black from all grey. This means that you will see app drawer, settings and other pages in black background now. This looks to us a power saving mode and pretty much resembles like the Samsung Ultra power saving settings which extends the battery life to a large extent by disabling all the smartphone capabilities.
Reddit user Yozakgg suggests that this could be a system-wide AMOLED theme but it more looks like a black theme for improving battery life.
All new Android Wear 2.0 update is reported to be available to LG Watch Style, Huawei Watch, Huawei Watch 2, Polar M600, Moto 360, Moto 360 v2, LG G Watch, Huawei 2 Classic, Sony Smartwatch, Sony Smartwatch 2, Fossil Q Explorist, Asus ZenWatch (all 3 Gens), Sony Smartwatch 3, Ticwatch Express, Misfit Vapor, Pebble, Pebble Time Steel, LG Watch Urbane 2 LTE and all other qualifying Android Wear devices.
If you are unable to see this update available, then please update the Android Wear app on your watch to the latest version on Google Play.
