After the success of WhatsApp as an instant messaging app, every global company is keen to give a try. Some of the popular instant messaging services apart from WhatsApp are Facebook Messenger, Hangouts, Skype, Viber, iMessage, Google Allo, Hike, WeChat (China) and Telegram.
Amazon wants to throw their hands in everything that comes their way. According to AFTVnews report, Amazon is working on an instant messaging app of their own. Dubbed as “Amazon Anytime” it’s expected to give WhatsApp, a run for the money. Some of the selected Amazon customers have received surveys on the app asking for the specific feature request/feedback.
Anytime app on launch, will not only cover up all the basic instant messaging app features like including voice calling, video calling, group chats, chat encryption, GIFs, emojis, stickers but also include advanced features like order food, Instagram like photo filters and group games. There is also @mentions in the photo that you share.
The services will allow users to encrypt important messages like bank account details and ID proof numbers. Further, it’s believed that Anytime will let you reach your friends just by using their name (without the need of their phone numbers). It’s still unclear how it will be implemented.
Recently Whatsapp added sharing support for all types of files and ever since acquisition by Facebook, it keeps on adding new features regularly. Amazon is trying to make it even more advanced than current WhatsApp.
Amazon Anytime app will be available on various platforms like iOS, Android, and desktop(Windows & Mac). The app maybe in the early stage of development and still, there are no clear details on when can we see it launched.
