Almost seven to eight months back, Facebook did a trial check with the project related to the ‘Wi-Fi Finder‘, where the user is able to locate the nearest location in which the ‘free WiFi’ facility could be availed. This facility was provided to only some parts of the world in the year 2016 as it was a trial base project. Today, Facebook has got the feature live globally.

The expansion of this feature would surely give a boost to the effort put by Facebook. It works in a very simple way. When the feature ‘Find Wi-Fi’ is activated, it will show the list of those locations that are near you, which provide you with the ‘free Wi-Fi’ option along with the business hours mentioned therein. The network homes would be also specified in the feature.

Again, the businesses have to choose this service by specifying their claim on their Facebook page. In order to get the feature, you have to click ‘More’ on the Facebook app and then click on ‘Find Wi-Fi’. Facebook said the feature has already started to be rolled out today and the same is available on the Android and iOS.

Facebook quoted “Today we’re beginning to roll out Find Wi-Fi everywhere in the world on iPhone and Android. We launched Find Wi-Fi in a handful of countries last year and found it’s not only helpful for people who are traveling or on-the-go, but especially useful in areas where cellular data is scarce.” It also added “Find Wi-Fi helps you locate available Wi-Fi hot spots nearby that businesses have shared with Facebook from their Page. So wherever you are, you can easily map the closest connections when your data connection is weak.”

Facebook is trying its best to make available the easy accessibility features on mobile and also to make use of its platform in a more effective manner.
