The Badshah of Bollywood is yet again going to entertain you with his upcoming movie based on Airforce operation. From the time of ‘Fauji’, which technically gave Shahrukh the required break (‘circus’ was also later on the table then) to act in movies. The concept of army has attracted the actor from the very beginning and so he has lot of movies based on army to his credit. His films like Main Hoon Na, Veer Zara, Bhoothnath, Army, Jab Tak Hai Jaan were considered as one of those films which gave good collection at the box office. This time his upcoming movie is based on the military operation which was executed in the year 2000.
Looking back at the incident, 223 peacemakers from India were sent to Seirra Leone by United Nations in order to assist the government there who were facing turbulence from the Revolutionary United Front, a rebel group. The soldiers hence sent, were eventually held captive by the group. The Major (now Lt.col) Harinder Sood led the ‘operation Khukri‘, under which around 121 IAF officers were flown to Africa from India to save these soldiers, which concluded with a miraculous save.
As per the source, the script is being discussed with Azure Entertainment. The source went further to say “It has been researched extensively and will be mounted on a really large scale. It will be a true depiction of a massive military operation and will celebrate our heroes. The director and cast are being finalized, the film will roll later this year. It will be shot in real locations in Africa with some real armed combat battle scenes.”
Off late there has been a lot of films on the Army, Airforce and Navy. Akshay Kumar, National award winner’s ‘Airlift’ was based on the story of the Indian businessman striving hard to get the Indians (who amounted to more than 1,70,000) back home, after war was waged by Iraq on Kuwait. Tubelight was another movie with Salman based on the war backdrop – 1962, Indo-Sino war.
The current movie of Shahrukh on operation Khukri is the home production of Shahrukh and Gauri Khan. VFX division of Red Chilli Entertainment would give a high expectation to the viewers towards a high visual appeal. The director and the female lead is yet to be finalized.
More appreciation is looked forward by the film once done and released!
