After being honoured with National Film Award, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar launches his dream app called ‘Bharat Ke Veer’. Rajnath Singh also attended ‘Shaurya Diwas’ event in New Delhi on 9 April 2017 where the Akshay Kumar’s new portal was launched. It’s a platform to enable willing donors to contribute towards the family of a martyr who sacrificed his/her life serving India.

Through ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ app and website, you can deposit amount up to Rs 15 lacs in the bank account of any Indian army men and the money will go directly to the kin of slain soldier. You can choose from a list of Indian army officer to donate the money. You can access this portal by visiting Bharatkeveer.gov.in.

The idea of such an app came to Akshay while watching a documentary film on terrorists in which shows how terror leaders financially support terrorist’s family. Last year he donated Rs 9 lacs to each of the CRPF personnel families who were killed in a Naxal encounter in Sukma of Chattisgarh state on 11th March.

Akshay has been supporting Indian army from many years. He has been doing movies related to army and unsung brave heroes of India. Ever since featuring in ‘Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty’, he has done many such movies like Baby, Naam Shabana, Airlift and Gabbar is Back. He will continue to do such movies to aspire young people of India to pursue a career as a soldier protecting India.

He revealed the plan of launching an app for Indian army families on The Kapil Sharma Sharma show. Once he said – “If I was not a hero then I would have been in the army.” He has asked each of 1.3 billion people in India to donate atleast Rs 1.
